How It Works

More records for your money.

Your Spotify library is full of albums you love. Your shelves are ready for a few of them. Unrip helps you figure out where to start—and how to make your money go further.

Start with the albums you want

Search for albums, import your saved albums from Spotify, or bring over your Discogs Wantlist. Select the albums you want to collect and leave out the ones you don’t.

Try a buying plan with up to 10 albums without an Unrip account. Create a free account for larger lists or to watch for deals.

Choose your copies

Choose vinyl or CD for your list, with individual album overrides. Set your minimum media and sleeve or case condition, seller rating, and ship-from preferences.

Unrip currently calculates shipping for delivery within the United States.

Buy your list or stretch your budget

Want everything on your list? Unrip looks for the lowest total cost of buying those albums within your requirements.

Have $50 to spend? Unrip looks for the combination that gets you the most albums from your list within that budget.

It compares listings across Discogs, eBay, HHV, and Rarewaves, including opportunities to buy several albums from one seller and save on shipping. The cheapest individual listings don’t always make the cheapest order.

Give new searches a little time

Unrip gathers prices in the background. If you add albums it hasn’t checked before, their prices won’t be available immediately. Gathering prices for a large list can take a few minutes.

Consider a better copy

Sometimes a Near Mint copy costs just a little more than the Very Good Plus copy you asked for. Unrip can show you that upgrade and the additional cost. You decide whether it’s worth it.

Buy from the sellers

Review your plan, then follow the listing links to purchase from each shop or marketplace. Separate sellers may mean separate orders. Confirm the final total and any additional charges at checkout.

Keep looking with Unrip

Watch an album and Unrip can alert you when it finds a price significantly below the median. After that, you’ll only get another price alert for that album when it finds a new low below the prices it has already sent you.

Unrip also watches your wantlist for unusually good bundles, including opportunities around $25 and $50. A free account is required to watch; signing up alone doesn’t turn on alerts.
