About

Stream digitally. Collect physically.

Unrip helps you turn the music you already love into a physical collection, while making your budget go further.

Why I built Unrip

I’m a software engineer who loves music and hi-fi. I started collecting physical albums later in life, after years of saving music on Spotify. I had hundreds of albums I loved and no physical collection.

Starting meant looking for a lot of albums at once. Comparing prices was only part of the work. I also had to check which sellers carried multiple albums I wanted, calculate shipping, and keep searching for better combinations.

I built Unrip to take care of that work—to help turn a library of music you love into a collection you can hold.

The thinking behind a buying plan

Each album adds more choices: copies, conditions, sellers, and shipping costs. The best individual prices don’t necessarily add up to the best way to buy your list.

Unrip uses mixed integer linear programming, a mathematical optimization method, to work through those connected choices. It looks for buying combinations that meet your preferences and make the most of your budget, using the listings and price information available.

Free to use

Buying plans and deal alerts are free. You can try a plan with up to 10 albums without an account. A free account lets you build larger plans and watch for deals.

How Unrip makes money

Unrip may earn a commission when you buy through links to shops and marketplaces. Commissions never influence which listings it includes or recommends.
