What Unrip keeps, and the ads it shows.

What we keep

Your account. Your email address, and your password stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash.

Your Wantlist. The records on it, your standards (format, condition, price limit, seller rating), the countries you’ll buy from, and your delivery country and ZIP code. The ZIP code is only used to estimate shipping. Also your saved sets and their daily price history.

Linked Spotify. An access key, stored encrypted, used to show your saved albums when you browse them. Only the albums you add are kept. Unlinking deletes the key.

Linked Discogs. Your Discogs username and access keys, stored encrypted, used to read your Discogs wantlist.

Alerts. What you watch, your browser’s push subscription so we can deliver alerts, and the alerts themselves. Sent alerts are deleted after 90 days.

Clicks out to shops. When you follow a link to a shop or marketplace we record the time, the shop and the record. This is not linked to your account.

We don’t run analytics, and we don’t store IP addresses in our database. Our host, Google Cloud, keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for 30 days.

Cookies

A sign-in cookie that lasts up to 7 days, and one setting in your browser that remembers whether you closed the “install the app” banner. On the public pages (the homepage, the guides, the FAQ, About and the format simulator) Google also sets advertising cookies, described below.

Ads

Unrip shows ads from Google AdSense on its public pages. There are none in the app itself. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Ads never change which listings Unrip includes or recommends.

Who else sees your data

Spotify and Discogs, only if you link them. Your browser’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla), which delivers your alerts, including the record and price. Google, which hosts Unrip and serves its ads.

Shops and marketplaces receive nothing from us. When you click through to one, you’re visiting their site under their own policies. Unrip doesn’t send email.

Your choices

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends it, ads on Unrip are restricted to non-personalised ads.

Do Not Sell or Share. Visitors in U.S. states with privacy laws can opt out through Your privacy choices at the foot of any page that shows ads.

Deleting your data. To delete your account and everything above, email [email protected] and we’ll delete it within 30 days.

Unrip isn’t meant for children under 13.
